Now we're getting real close. The changes are radical and subtle at the same time. I can't tell you how long I've wanted to change those mag wheels to spokes. Well, yes I guess I can tell you. 30 years. This incarnation will do for this year. This winter I have a few more ideas in the works. I've nicknamed this bike "The Bride of Frankenstein."

New pearl white paint, a new rake out front by Hackers Paradise, lower all around,new handlebars flipped upside down to get even lower and many more subtle and not so subtle tricks. Again, my thought here is to take what's there and make it how the factory should have, or could have. To me, this is the era of the original muscle bike. This bike is way faster than I will ever need it to be and it's only got 20, 000 on it. Time to cruise. Stay tuned for the final pics.

This bike was bought by my father brand new, along with 24 others just like it. It was part of a shriner fleet and the color choice was 1951 Cadillac yellow. (?). Anyway, this is one I was glad to retrieve, has a really special meaning to me and I will always own it. (until my son decides someday he would like it).

This is the current band wagon & trailer. The van has an air ride system and the suspension has been radically altered by Hackers Paradise. I bought it off a car lot in Centerville and just started ripping out curtains, tearing off miles of tape pinstriping and tranforming it into something cool. I drive it everyday and in all kinds of weather. The trailer has also been lowered and has matching American Racing "Hopster" wheels in 18 inch size with Pirelli 205 tires. The van has 18 by 7's up front and 20 by 10's out back with a really fat tire. This van gets looks and comments almost everyday. I figure if I'm going to be in it so much, (and I am), I wanted to at least look cool to me. : )

I got a call from Bill Winger telling me to get my butt down to Walmart for these bikes. I don't ever go to Walmart for more political reasons but I went there for this. An entire skid of these bikes in 3 colors, was hiding way in the back by the fake Christmas trees. I had to have one. This is a weird Chinese made version of a blend of a couple of Schwinn designs but I like it. I could never afford on of these when I was a kid. I had a Huffy Cheater Slick and I hope to buy another one of those soon, just for fun. I added the chrome bullet headlight and a more traditional and "right-sized" rear reflector but other than that, I haven't done a thing to it. Hard to believe isn't it?

I bought this for my son Nick because he just loved it at the time. I think he rode it for maybe a week until some kid made fun of him on it. (dumbass). He parked it in the barn and just recently gave it back to me. Some people just don't get the old school thing at all. Oh well, I love it, too. I'm thinking about raking it out just a little......what do you think?

When I was a teenager, Pat Crafton owned Woodman Drive, ( in Dayton this was the place to cruise), and his car club was The Rat Pack. I wanted badly to be a part of that so I jumped at the chance to buy Brian Syxx's wagon. As I understood it, Pat also had to like you for you to be a part of his crew and I think he did. He hired me to work in his custom shop for about 6 months, which included a cool photo shoot for Car Craft at one point. This car had pearl white paint, small block Chevy, candy striped and the all important "Rat Pack" painted on the tailgate by Crafton in candy. I put the trick wheels on it. I got a ticket one night for running slicks on the street and for bumper height, higher than the factory specs. It was a whole lot of fun and I thought I was bad. : )

Some kids set the leaf piles in the street on fire and it burned this car too. I woke up about 3 in the morning to fire trucks and sirens and looked out to what can only be described as a full on war zone in my street. I sold it then to Bill Winger, he was going to rebuild it. Not sure what happened after that. I only carried liability insurance on it at that time. Very sad day.

I accidentally bought this car at an auction in Franklin one morning for $400. It was really a perfect car but someone had switched the plug wires around on it so it ran like crap when it went through. I rolled the dice and came out with a great piece of transportation. Of course, I couldn't leave it alone. I first filled as much of the weird body panels and bumpers as possible and sprayed the whole thing with Krylon white rattle can paint. ( I think 10 cans of it). I cut the springs and out in lowering blocks out back, later had Maaco paint it and I tricked out the grill and tail section as you see. I made the headlight covers and striped them to match the now painted grill. Also had the factory rims white with chrome beauty rings and spinner centers at one time but this shows it with the painted salt flat discs from Moon.

The ONLY picture I have of this car. Big, fast, luxurious muscle car for sure. This car came with an adjustable front suspension that of course I took all the way down as far as it would sit. 440 motor, L60's under the big wheel wells out back and an 8 track player. I used to wash this car up on Linden Avenue then jump right on 35 and do 100 mph to dry it off, pull back in and Armor All the tires and cruise. Wonderful car.

Here's another one I'd like to get back and my sister's favorite car of mine ever. I painted it gun metal grey and put on big & littles with Cragar Super Street Trick wheels. I also put in plexiglas tailights for that cool looking pinball machine lighting at night. Not at all legal but I liked it. Had I kept this car, it would seriously be sporting a 502 crate motor by this time. I sold it to a kid in Beavercreek and he rapidly destroyed it. Too bad.

This is one of those cars that got away. I had this car for a few years but I didn't have enough money to do it up right. New marriage, new baby, new mortgage....you know the story. It took me a real long time to get it to this point and then I got a real good trade offer and took it. My bad. I heard the guy that got it munched the motor a week after he had it. I wish I had it back. Very fun car.

This car has air ride and is THE most comfortable hot rod to ever glide down the road. I chose the satin finished center Radir wheels for this one. I think it fits well. Thanks again to Hackers Paradise for the stance.

I've had the Rat decal for longer than I've had the car. It fits with the theme. Everything is just "Eville" here and yes, I would love to build it in 1:1 someday. Timeless in it's raw form.

I really like this motor. It looks huge in this engine bay and that's fine with me. I added the updraft Weber carbs to the mix to further set it apart. I love this car. Oh yeah, red windows. Ol' s'kool.

This is Mongo. It belongs to Bill, too. Again, he gave me quite a bit of freedom in the design of this one and it just rocks. When I first got this truck we kinda bonded, as if the truck was saying "Mongo like Sheriff Bart." The more insane the ideas, the better it turned out. Bagged, rearend moved foward 20 inches, Garlits Fuel Injection setup, Zoomies, flipped bed front to rear, Radir wheels with cheater slicks. This turned out tremendous. I love it. Thanks again to Kevin, who takes my crazy ideas and makes them happen.

I painted these graphics with a very tiny brush. It is my own design and it took forever but it turned out very well I think. Again, inspired by the masters. It's a "Treasure Island" kinda theme in there. The movie, not the restaurant.

I chopped the top and set it on some '31 fenders. Filled a gap here and there and that's it. Throw in a caddy motor with open headers and you can just hear this Munster type car thump. Maybe it's Eddie's?

Alot of what I try to do is just enhance what the factory built, massage it a bit for full affect. To make changes that are so subtle that a father would say to his son at a car show, "Yep, that's how the factory made them."

Hahaha!!! GREAT, fun project. I had an opportunity to go where no one had gone before while my son played in the Fairmont Marching Band. A group of us fathers bought the band a new gear tractor and they asked me to pimp it out. Drilled chrome wheels, blue neon lights, custom shifter handle, chrome front bumper, my own paint and graphics. Now, what was really cool is the pinstriping. I asked my pal The Egyptian if he would be into finishing my paint job with his pinstriping and clear. He AGREED!!! What a guy, and the kids just loved it. Thanks Don.

In between coats of candy, I would lay out some graphics. Spray some more candy, lay on some more graphics. Repeat about 6 times and then clear.

The affect is a cool, multi leveled graphic design that looks a foot deep. I call my garage "Eville Motors" and there's a story in that, too.

My Dad always had big cars when I was a kid. Huge Chryslers, giaganitc Cadillac aircraft carriers, etc. To me the sport one was the Eldo. To make this happen, I always knew you would have to make a front engine, rear wheel drive car out of it. No problem, right? And look at the results. Killer.

This car sports gray leather inside and you could fit 19 people in it for cruise night. Big wheel and the right rake makes it nasty.

I two-toned this car because I hadn't seen it done. Sometimes this really brings out the lines of the car even more. The graphics that anchor this car are imulating marble, again with that very tiny brush. Just a thought but good enough to make it into a Scale Auto magazine.

Take what the factory built and make it better. In this case, just the right stance and wheel/tire combo. The essence for any sucessful car project, no matter the budget.

When I was 11, my sister dated a guy who got a brand new 442 W2 for a graduation present, black and gold. He took me for a ride up Dorothy Lane toward Beavercreek and I thought that by the time we got top the top of the hill, we would launch into space. That day I knew I had a strong heart, a good stomach and motorhead fever in my blood for life.

What can I say? I took a shot on this car and how it may turn out and I hit it out of the park. I bought this car with 6,500 miles on it and all original. As soon as the front was dumped, I know I was onto something. Bagged, 18" by 10" Budnik wheels out back. Kevin always says, "Bart, you always bring me a challenge......and I like it." Again my vision, Kevin's expert execution.

This car was featured in Super Chevy, Popular Hot Rodding, Goodguys Gazette and a host of others. I got to the Goodguys event in Columbus and didn't even have a chance to park. The dude from Super Chevy was in the passenger seat, telling me where to go for my feature shoot. I was only there for about 2 hours total and it was incredible. More paparazzi than Paris Hilton.

I got this bug last summer for old road race cars or old kit cars. I found this model and lit into it. My thought here is a modern twist on some classic designs, again that haven't been approached. I guess what I do is think of things that I think people should attack. Sorta like a concept car designer? To be honest, if I had tons of money, I would build every one of these and live in the garage.

I cut out the front headlight assembly to make a simple oval grill shape. I cut off the built in wing out back and bent the body work down to form the rear quarter design. Add a set of big stickies and huge disc brakes and it's done.

This is a resin bodied car from Jimmy Flintstone. You usually see these done up in what I call "$100,000, dime a dozen, gumdrop cars." It went in the "raw" direction, a return to hot rod roots.

Alot of times I just have to look at something for awhile until a concept hits me. Sometimes I just play around with tire & wheel combos. This is how I discovered this particular look.

I cut up several carefully chosen decals and layered them into a design I liked on the deck lid. I highly recommend this. Turned out great I think.

I'm proud to say that this car is now in the collection of Don "The Egyptian" Boeke. I brought it to show him some of my stuff and he loved it. Made my year for sure. Thanks Don.

I had this nice cowl hood scoop and I thought it blended in very well. Lots of sanding but a very natural fit when all is said and done.

I had such a great time with the late model Corvair I just had to wonder. Of couse, really off the chain and I think very cool. A future 1:1 project? Maybe.

Nothing longer or lower. It's like Caddy built it for this to eventually happen. These cars always look great slammed.

I had some really cool "BIG" inch wheels from a Batmobile model. It was a perfect match. The bat logo is in the center cap design.

My buddy Vern had some new red pearl dust that we added to the clearcoat on this one. It's a cool affect but you have to look closely to see it pop.
